1. Complete your Google Business Profile
For a restaurant, your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a hungry customer sees. Treat it as your most important page.
- Choose the most accurate primary category and relevant secondary categories.
- Keep opening hours, special hours and holiday hours up to date.
- Add your menu, price range, attributes (dine-in, takeaway, delivery, outdoor seating) and accepted payments.
- Link to your reservation and direct ordering pages.
- Answer common questions in the Q&A section yourself.
2. Keep your details consistent
Your name, address and phone number should match exactly across your website, Google, delivery platforms, social profiles and local directories. Inconsistent details confuse customers and weaken trust signals.
3. Earn and respond to reviews
Reviews influence both ranking and choice. Ask for them ethically, at the right moment, and respond to every one.
- Use a simple review link or QR code on bills, tables and post-visit messages to customers who have agreed to be contacted.
- Never offer rewards in exchange for positive reviews, and never post fake ones.
- Reply to positive reviews with thanks and to negative reviews calmly, with an offer to make it right offline.
4. Stay fresh with photos and posts
Profiles with recent, appetising photos look alive. Upload photos of your bestsellers, interior, exterior and team regularly. Use posts for new dishes, offers and events. Real photos beat stock images every time.
5. Build a page for each outlet
If you have more than one location, each outlet needs its own page on your website with its address, map, hours, menu highlights, parking information and a clear way to reserve or order. Link each page from its Google Business Profile. This helps both customers and search engines understand which outlet serves which area.
6. Track what matters
Views are nice, but actions pay the bills. For each outlet, track calls from your profile, direction requests, website clicks, reservations and direct orders. Compare outlets month by month to see where to focus.
Busy outlets miss calls and messages. A WhatsApp or voice agent can answer timing, menu and location questions and capture reservation requests during the rush, so visibility turns into visits.
